Pink is not known for giving a subdued performance and her latest - at Liverpool's Echo Arena - was definitely no different.

Although she arrived on stage late (more chance to spot some of the outrageous Pink-esque outfits donned by the audience) she certainly lived up to the hype.

Arriving in style, by dropping from the ceiling and performing a rendition of Highway to Hell, Pink showed why her concerts sell out in hours.

Never to shy away from the controversy, Pink had the audience giggling nervously and parents covering their children’s eyes, as they watched her drape herself over a chair, in what can only be described as lingerie, and perform a cover of The Divinyls, I Touch Myself.

Classics, such as Just Like a Pill, Leave Me Alone and Stupid Girl, got the crowd singing along and dancing before she switched back to the basics for an acoustic performance of Family Portrait. Following on from this she revealed how she had spilt a bowl of soup over her just hours before she appeared on stage.

The stage played homage to an elaborate circus on which two giant clown figures emerged from the ground and acrobats hung from the ceiling, performing all manner of stunts whilst the singer performed her hit Sober. If this wasn’t enough the singer then went on to propel herself down slides that formed part of the stage and carried out some of the most elaborate choreography.

Pink incorporated a little bit of British into her performance with her rendition of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, and allowed herself a small, yet hilarious dig at American singer Britney Spears by donning a blonde wig and pretending to mime during Don’t Let Me Get Me.

If she hadn’t succeeded already, Pink showed just what an amazing talent she is by hitting those all important high notes of the song, Glitter in the Air, whilst suspended above the stage.

The singer then disappeared before returning to shower the nearby audience with gold glitter as she spun round and round from a trapeze, signalling the end of the show.

So how do you get the party started? I’d say Pink has a fair idea.
