50 Cent and G-Unit were 'In Da Club' when new Liverpool club Bamboo held its launch on Thursday night.
Bamboo, the new club on Duke Street, has been heralded as the city's first seven-star venue by the people behind the project, who wanted to make a big impact with an A-list special guest. The hip hop legend was paid a reported £50,000 for turning up at Bamboo.
Kay Uchegbu, owner of Bamboo, said: "The night was fantastic, but 50 was the most expensive one-liner in the history of the world. He said ‘hey’ for 50k."
The rapper was in the north west with his international tour as he performed songs from his latest album ‘Before I Self Destruct’ to a sold-out audience at the Manchester MEN Arena. He headed down the M62 to make his guest appearance in Liverpool for an after-show party.
Cara Clelland, who was sat in the VIP area with 50 Cent, said: "I had doubts as to whether or not he would turn up, to be honest. I couldn't believe it when he walked through the doors, the screams from all over the club were ridiculous... it was an completely amazing night."
Another partygoer, Jake Lloyd, said: "With champagne flowing and 50 Cent a few feet away, I felt like it was a dream. He looked to be having a really great time."
With VIP booths selling for up to £1,000 each, four dancefloors, five bars, a VIP balcony and a chill-out room with a heated terrace, Bamboo looks like it could instantly become the place to be seen.
