Why did you decide to come to Liverpool?
It wasn’t a well thought-through decision. I just like The Beatles.
Does living in Liverpool meet the expectations you had before you moved to the UK?
I did not have any expectations really. It was more like: “Hey let’s go there and see what happens...” type of approach.
What is the biggest difference between Liverpool and your hometown?
Funnily, the cities are quite alike. Both have docks and are of similar size. However, in my city we have trams. I miss them in Liverpool, but I quite like it here. It is different; the society is far more diversified, multicultural, and looks to me somewhat like one of the Picasso’s paintings or sometimes more like Dali’s.
What is your favourite place in Liverpool?
Lime Street station. It sounds weird, but I like to watch all the people running around. It feels like I’m stuck in the middle of chaos.
What was the strangest thing you came across during your time in the UK?
Steak and kidney pie.
What advice can you give other international students who come to Liverpool?
Stay open-minded and bring a friend with you!
