The surreal sight of more than a hundred brightly painted penguins brought a colourful and bizarre touch to the outdoor corridor of Liverpool Screen School at the weekend.
The gathering of the 3ft and 5ft statues marked the official launch of the 'Go Penguins' initiative, a major public art display set to capture Liverpudlian hearts during the festive period. The project has been set up by Wild in Art, the same company behind the mini Superlambanana artworks which graced the city during the European Capital of Culture Year in 2008.
A party at LSS on Friday evening broke the ice for the penguins, which started to go on public display as part of 'A Winter's Trail' around Liverpool from Sunday.
